It won't look pretty, but you don't need to replace your screen when it cracks, especially if the cracks are around the edges of the screen and don't interfere with actually using the phone. The main benefit of going to a third party is time; many will be able to repair your phone in under an hour, and some will even come to your home or office to pick up the device

The reason for this is if you do not tell them the screen is cracked on the phone they will either send the phone back untouched if it was setup as a standard replacement, or if its the Express replacement they will charge your card for the full cost of a replacement phone
