but then we turned it on today and it WORKS! it comes on and the screen is just fine except it comes on with the no service and in different languages and says i need to restore itunes. guys said that freezing the phone confirmed that there was still moisture in the phone and that I needed to put the phone in a bag of rice for a few days to completely dry out the phone

If everything fits, your cables look intact, but your device still will not function properly, this is a sign of something worse then a simply cosmetic issue

If the touchscreen is unresponsive, remove the digitizer again and verify that the number 2 cable is pushed down all the way onto the logic board and seated correctly
