The First time, I had chocolate peanut butter which is a little disappointing (just a hint of pb) but a year later I tried it again and I really like cookies and cream and mint. Arctic seemed pretty bland at first but then I decided to make it fun and drizzle just a teaspoon over the half a cup I choose to limit myself to at a time

Cut the finest citron melons, when perfectly ripe, take out the seeds and slice the nicest part into a China bowl, in smal pieces, that will lie conveniently, cover them with powdered sugar, and let them stand several hours, then drain off the syrup they have made, and add as much cream as it will give a strong flavour to, and freez it. Just how elaborate the 'pretty designs' could be is illustrated by Ranhofer's 'Stanley Punch.'...As the Victorian meal drew to a close, the entremet course was served

and they do taste yummy! although mine look quite ugly! they looked beautiful and domed until they came out of the oven, then they shrunk back looking wrinkled and with a medium bump in the middle. I will be making these fresh on the day of Halloween for our annual fall festival and I already know they are going to be a hit with the buttercream icing recipe that I found

Use the tip of a thermometer (totally brilliant tip from Amy, by the way; it made far better indentations than skewers that I usually use for docking) to poke the cookies with holes (Amy recommends 14 holes but I used this as my guide and made more). I scooped the ice cream into a couple large zip lock bags, then mushed it to the bottom and formed a flattened log the thickness I wanted before freezing overnight to make sure it was super hard

Cookie ice cream sandwiches, we have heard of, but brownies are going to be far superior in my mind! I will definitely try this next time that craving strikes. I remove the ads as soon as I know of the offenders, but I do feel that, increasingly, the inventory available to any web publishers is less and less pleasant, as illogical as it seems because why would you feel anything but negativity towards a company that had an invasive ad? Ugh

Add the milk and eggs back into the hot milk, continue stirring, and heat it for 1-2 minutes, until the custard reaches 170F on a digital thermometer and is very thick. While the milk is warming, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, flour, and cornstarch until the mixture is completely smooth.Once the milk is steaming, add half of it, whisking constantly, to the egg mixture

Cook over low to moderate heat, constantly stirring and scraping the bottom with a heatproof spatula, until the custard thickens enough to coat the spatula. after i layed it on the counter and it cooled for a minute or so, i cut it up and when i put the knife down on it, it shattered!!! literally shattered and some fell on the floor -my dog enjoyed that :) and when you bit it it fell apart in your mouth

Definitely a keeper! Thanks for the recipe!! UPDATE: I tried it again, and this time whipped the heavy whipping cream until the soft peak stage before adding, and that did the trick! It set up a lot nicer. If you are following a medically restrictive diet, please consult your doctor or registered dietitian before preparing this recipe for personal consumption

It was well worth the effort! With my double batch I did half vanilla (with a real vanilla bean and some pure vanilla extract) and the other half with chocolate malt ovaltine and some malted milk powder. I also drizzled in some vegetable glycerine to both to help keep the ice cream scoopable after being in the freezer overnight, and it worked like a charm

Not only will they add their lovely scent to the sugar, but you can re-use the beans for anything, from adding to a pot of poaching fruit to jam-making. My understanding is that Dutch processed cocoa is used in recipes where there is also baking powder used, but obviously, there is none of that in your chocolate sauce
